Love where you live?

One of the most difficult decisions to make, about moving to a new country or city, is where to live. It’s all very well saying you’re going to move from your country, state or city of origin to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane, but once you get there you need to determine exactly where you’re going to call home, and the decision will involve researching a broad range of different suburbs and locations.

One of the most popular articles on this site is Where to live in Australia? The best Sydney suburbs for families. The article and comments provide fascinating insights about a number of popular Sydney suburbs, from mums who have moved to Aus.

But, not all families move to Sydney, and as it’s our aim to help as many families as possible who are moving to Aus, not just those moving to Sydney, we’d like to broaden the range of states, cities and suburbs we discuss. Of course, we’d love to hear more from mums in and around Sydney too.

Win me

To celebrate Mum’s gone 2 Aus 1st Birthday, we’re organising a Champagne giveaway. Note: We’re not talking about a $10 bottle of Jacobs Creek sparkling wine, however nice that is; we’re offering a bottle of French Veuve Clicquot; Mum’s Champagne of choice (before having children, when she earned enough money to afford it).

To enter our Champagne giveaway all you need to do is tell us a little about where you live, in the comments of this article. To add a comment you need to provide your first name and email address (the email address is only visible to Mum, we’ll use this to tell you if you’ve won the Champagne), you can also add your business or blog website if appropriate.

Within your comment please provide the following information;

  1. The Australian state or territory you live in
  2. The city or town you live in
  3. The exact suburb you live in
  4. Why you love your suburb
  5. Why your suburb is good for families
  6. Please name schools, child care facilities, shops, restaurants and any other specific services that you’d recommend in your suburb

Mum’s going to leave the article comments open for one month. We hope to cover a good range of suburbs from across Australia. At the end of the month (18th July), Mum will close the comments and with the help of Lesley Snell from Northern Beaches Know-How (our official adjudicator) we’ll put the names in a hat and pick a lucky winner.

Thanks in advance for taking part, we’re sure all mums moving to Aus will be grateful that you took the time to comment. Good luck in the draw!

**UPDATE** The competition to win a bottle of Champagne has now closed, thank you for your comments. We’ve been introduced to some great family friendly suburbs in Australia. Comments are still open if you’re keen to share your thoughts on where to live in Australia, but the Champagne has run out (and Mum didn’t drink it all!).

P.S. If you’ve already commented on where you live in Where to live in Australia? The best Sydney suburbs for families, we’ll automatically enter you into the draw but we’d love you to write again and elaborate on why you love where you live.
