Bangtao beach

The island of Phuket is a major Thai tourist destination, and only a short flight from Bangkok (1.5 hrs). Patong is the most famous resort on the island, with a lively nightlife and wealth of shopping opportunities. Mum doesn’t recommend staying in Patong for a peaceful family stopover. Bang Tao sits north of Patong and is infinitely quieter. The transfer from Phuket airport to Bang Tao is about 40 minutes by taxi.

Getting around
